Default Electrical problem

Ok, 94 f150 xcab, xlt 4x4. The problem i'm having is when I open the doors the fuse will blow. The fuse powers the lights of course, but also the odometer.. which makes the transmission not shift properly. I took the dome light cluster completely out and it's still blowing, I had to resort to pulling the switches out of the doors. Do you think the chime could be blowing the fuse? I could turn the lights on fine with the doors closed.

Any ideas are helpful.

possible but unlikely, but pull the chime and see what happens, nothing will happen if you disconnect it. Almost all switches operate off ground, try a continuity test to the positive wire at the light.
