Default Electrical Issue

Hello All -
My issue has me stumped. I can't run my accessories at the same time without the truck shutting off. For example if it is night time and I am using the radio and head lights, as soon as I turn on the A/C the truck shuts down. God forbid if I need windshield wipers too!. Now, it has reached the point where anytime I Run the A/C, with or without other accessories running I see the battery light come on and the truck shuts down. I have replaced the battery with a bigger battery and have checked all of the fuses. I have also researched the alternator as a 75A rated one and also had it tested. It tested good, but not entirely ruling it out. Anyone have any thoughts?

Check and make sure the battery is getting 14 volts, that is what the alternator puts out, if not the alternator might be bad. The alternator is what mainly operates the electrical system.

Check and clean your battery connections and alternator wires. Have the entire system tested again after fixing the wires and get numbers ( how many amps volts etc ). Do this test with the accessories on. Maybe something is pulling too much power. Most charging system problems are due to bad connections. Make sure you check your engine and body grounds as well.

Had the same thing going on with mine. Took the fire hazard 2g alternator out and put in a 3g ... problem solved. I posted a thread here on the swap, lots of pics.
