I'm new to the site and I have a problem with 91 f 150. My tranny began shifting really weird and hard. I changed the oil and filter, it was doing well for a couple of weeks then started doing the same only this time when I cam to a stop light and tried taking off the engine would rev high and the truck would barely move like it was slipping and I began hearing a grinding noise where the engine and tranny meat. I took pan off again and saw very small metal shavings and now trying to figure out what it could be. When grinding noise begins I shut the truck off and start it again the noise goes away but after a few min it comes back, truck will shift fine. Any help will be great in diagnosing the problem

 

put some mystery oil in it. sounds like it probably is going to need a rebuild, but a lot of times if you throw some mystery oil in there you can get some xtra life out the trans

 

Your tranny is "TOAST dude...need a re-build...did my 94 E4OD for $1800 at AAMCO.

 

i wnet to the junkyard and got a 94 f-250 one for 700 bucks and it had been rebuilt before
