Default E4OD Forward Issues

Hi I have a 95 F150 with the E4OD The tail housing gasket was leaking changed that and fixed the leak. Now it is having and issue with forward drive. The fluid & filter have been changed 3 times no change. It shifts right into reverse no slipping. but when put in any forward gear to get it to kick in and move u got to rev the engine and it will start moving a bit and finally kick in and go fine with no slipping. As soon as u stop right back to not wanting to take right off again. If anyone has any idea to what the problem may be i would greatly appreciate the help.

Sounds like a slipping clutch band to me. I would prepare for a new transmission. As long as the fluid level is correct ( make sure the engine is hot when you check) I can't think of anything simple that would cause slippage like that. You may be able to pull some more miles out of it with some no slip fluid additive. Each gear uses a different set of clutch bands. First does the most work so it usually dies first. Reverse is usually the last to go.
