e4od code
I own this 1994 f-150 4.9 engine 4x4 e4od transmission. When I hit A bump there is no current going to the fuel pump and the truck stops running. A friend and I went over all the wires under the hood with A tester and found A purple wire with A yellow stripe cut right below the master cylinder. We twisted the wire back together hoping the fuel pump would start working but it didn't. We just ran A hot wire straight from the fuse box to the fuel pump where it hooks up to the sending unit under the bed. Fuel pump works now. All the relays under the hood are good. I drove the truck 15 miles and all was well. I no longer have the code 629 torque converter clutch circuit fault. I now have the codes 542 fuel pump open, all ways on or bad ground and 628 excessive converter slippage. Turns out the purple wire controls the torque converter clutch solenoid. I wonder why who ever owned the truck before I did had the torque converter lock wire clipped? I am worried I will mess up the torque converter and the e40d transmission. Will it be ok to run the truck with the 628 code or should I disconnect the purple wire I found clipped? Any input on the short circuit going to my fuel pump and especially the converter slippage will be appreciated. The trans is shifting smooth and is not slipping.
