Drop tanks or Remove bed?

going to replace the fuel pumps in my 87's tanks... is it easier to drop the tanks or to take the bed off and shift it off the frame and work from the top? or is it not an option?

no matter what the tanks have to go down the only hard part is unhooking the senders so i would leave the bed.... 4 bolts 3 hose clamps for each tank and your done if my calculations are correct.
