I have no clue what the line is there for. And its definitely only on the door. Just somethin' they did a little different.

Well the crappy door thats on there now doesn't match the body line at all. So it is definately from a different year.

that body line is only on 95-96 f150s its to aid in water drainage from inside the door. alot of older trucks rust right there.

door shells are interchangeable
the only thing that wont interchange is the manual window regulator. (not sure about power) but the crank shaft on the 92-96 is longer for the door panel, if you try to put an older one behind a 92-96 you wont be able to put on the window crank.

the glass its self is the same though.

also the nut tab inside the door to mount 92-96 mirrors isnt present on 80-91 doors.

Somwhere in the late 80s the vent window"post" got thicker and the main window got narrower. Early windows won t fit latter doors unless you use the vent window ***. Too
