What vehicle are you working on? LMC Truck has some lock parts.

Well, that would help. It's my 95 F150, driver side.
I tried to vacuum the door to try and find the parts just so i could see it and maybe figure out how it worked and fit, no joy. I could take off the pax side i suppose.
Good idea, ill look at LMC.

There are 2 styles
Google "ford lock rod bushings" and these will come up
The first style requires you to remove the latch bolts and turn the latch sideways to remove the rod from the bushing
2nd style is the better design where you pop the re4tainer clip off the rod
You can get a handful for a buck at the junkyard

Thank you.
The bend in the bottom of the rod actually has to go through the hole. The first style looks like the rod isnt secured very well. The second style snaps around the rod providing a little more security from slipping out.
I think i understand how it works.

Right, the bend screws you as well as holds it in there
You have to either twist the rod (easiest way) or remove the latch and twist it to get the rod out
Then replace the bushing and reinstall the rod
Bitchy to say the least

I couldn't tell by the picture of your broken one, but I think yours should be the harder to remove style
If you can get the latch bolts out, that is the way I can do them the quickest, even though it's the hardest
