On the trip home from purchasing my bronco I used the cruise and it would not turn off when hitting the brakes so I just figured it was in the servo, the other day I removed the messy trailer wiring including a wire coming all the way to the brake light switch and checked the flashers and they did not work but did not think to check the fuse thinking it could be the flasher. On the way home from the home improvement store tonight I tried the cruise and still the same but something made me look at the rear lights in the mirror and no stop lights, well the PO took out the fuse so now everything works like it should and I think the messy wiring might have caused a problem so the fuse was pulled.

Make sure that your cruise control was fixed during the recall. The brake switch on the MC could leak causing a fire whether the truck is on or off. Check your VIN with a dealer or online.
