Default Electric Fans

Do I take out the Coolant temperature sending unit and replace it with the the thermostat for my electric fans?

Dont take either one of those out. One is for the computer and one if for the gauge. Can get the kits that mount a probe in top rad hose,. or drill and tap the thermo housing cover for the fan sesnor.


Flex-a-lite makes a nice kit that cann control dual fans and function correctly when is operates. Bit pricey but they come with evrything need for install

The e fan switch from Advanced Auto for $18 works great and the sensor installs in the fan fins. Several of us on this forum are using it without issue for some time now. Check out the following link for some great info from allot of forum users.

I used a cheapie switch from Summit on my '2000...mounts through the radiator fins like the fan zip ties. Took it all off before I sold it and haven't gotten around to.mounting it on my '90...wouldn't use the zip ties for the fans themselves, but I figure the sender probe wouldn't cause too much damage.
