Default Electric fan swap!!!!!!

Well I started the swap from clutch fan to electric fan today. My truck is a 1995 f150 flair side with the 4.9 inline six and 5 speed manual 2 wheel drive. That being said I like the v8 can assembly a whole lot better just sayin. I'm not going to go into all the common sense safety issues involved with working on your trucks, just don't be a dumb *** ! Lol if anyone has any input on this thread please feel free to to jump in!

All that said let's jump in and get dirty! Start by taking ONE of the clutch to fan bolts out mine took a 1/2" or 13mm wrench to take out (strait out of the chiltons manual). After I tried to take ALL of the bolts out I went and read "how to remove" I'm a big dummy some times! Any way i had to go to the local auto zone and rent the clutch fan removal wrenches, the first one I got was $27, didn't fit so back to az for the other set which was $60 it's a good thing they give it all back when done! The problem was they didn't fit all that well either so be careful. After that turn the fan nut COUNTER CLOCKWISE while holding the water pump pulley (pain in the rear) but it finally came loose, spin the fan assembly off and set it at the bottom of the fan shroud, there are (or should be ) two 8mm bolts at the top of the fan shroud take those out and lift the fan assembly and shroud up and out, that's it for the hard part(at least for me), next I will be fabing up some brackets to mount the new fan, they sent those little "zip tie" mounting strips that mount through the radiator but I've found that they tend to rub holes in the radiator so my recommendation is to not use them! Plus they are plastic I'd rather use metal it seems to last longer to! Lol.

Picts to follow and the rest of the installation of the fan it got to dang hot out in the sun! Plus I need some mounting hardware so it will be Monday at the soonest I can finish,(maybe)

i did the electric fan swap on my truck but i used the fan from a 90's town car and kept my fan shroud. the fan fit perfict and looked like it was factory. Not sure if u plan on useing a shroud but i def recomend it. helps channel the air where it needs to go.

Just an FYI you need a new belt.

I run dual e fans on mine with an all aluminium 3 row rad. Works great.

I've been meaning to do the swap, just didn't get around to it. First I need to rebuild my alternator.

I just need to figure out the wiring and the t-stat to cut the fan on and off and I might just wire a manual override switch for my A/C, or how did you guys run your wiring?
