Default Do-it-yourself alignment?

My wheel is about 10-15 degrees off center, and I'm sure I need an alignment. I know it's BEST to have a shop do it, but is it possible to do it myself? I think there's a section about it in my Haynes book, but I haven't read it through yet. Just wonder whether it's going to be worse when I finish than when I'd started, and do I have to have a lift to do it?

Thoughts?

yes you can do a basic reset the toe. Make a mark on the front tires. move that mark to the front measure it. Then roll the truck until the marks are at the back and measure it. Do this with the steering wheel straight. the measurements will be the same front and rear once the proper adjustments are made.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a shot. Your description sounds like what I glimpsed in my manual. First thing, though, I guess, is to get the wheel centered.
