Default Differential cover.

I'm replacing mine and before do it I want to know if there is a special way/ tool to get the gear lube in there?

i believe there is a plug in the front where you can put the diff fluid in

Hopefully this picture i got from google uploads, the plug is on the driver's side next to the pinion and should be directly south of the VSS(what the arrow is pointing at).


In case you or anybody reading this wants to know: capacity of gear lube and if necessary friction modifier for LS is 5.3-5.8 Pints = 2.65-2.9 US Quarts = 2.5-2.75 Litres, depending on year of truck, my Haynes lists 94 and older as the smallest quantity, I always just filled it until it came out the fill plug and checked again after about 50 miles or less.
