Different length fleetside shortbed boxes??

Actually there is three lengths. Single tank short bed trucks have 6.5 foot. Dual tank short beds are 7 foot. Then there's the 8 foot.

You sure? Mine is a single tank short bed, and is 7 ft

You also have a crew cab. Not sure if that makes a difference.

external lengths

1996 f150 extended cab short bed = 6'-9"
1997 f250 HD extended cab long bed = 8'-4"

from all iv seen there are only 2 sizes.
