I would think the sound you get from removing them would depend on how much piping you after after it and what muffler you're using. But cutting mine and running just the glasspacks with dumps didnt even make my inline that loud. I mean it sounds nice, but it doesnt sound like a 5.0 or anything.

on my 5.0L i gutted the first cat, cut the second one out and ran about 6 ft of 4'' to a turn down before the axle. Loudest most deepest meanest sounding truck i"ve heard in awhile.
