Default Crazy idea???

I have a 89 F-150 4x4 with a 5.8/351W, small block C-6, 8.8 w/3.73. Short bed. Towing package ... hence the 3.73s.

I am scrapping a working 96 1-ton, 4x2, with a good 7.5L/460 and good E4OD transmission.

Is it doable to take the big block E4OD and use it on my small block 351W by using an adapter plate?

What about shifting? IS there a module I need to get or take off of the 96?

The other notion would be to just put the whole assembly from the 1-ton into the 1/2-ton. Engine, MFI, Transmission, computer, front half of the exhaust, etc ...

Would that be too much weight for the suspension?

More trouble than it is worth.

Or just crazy enough to work?
