Default crank and speed issues

sooo I'm back again, after you guys helped me fix my overheating issue! we are on to another... since my last post I'm going to give an updated list of what I have and what we've done to it...

95 f150 5.0 xlt;

overhaul of the cooling system minus fan clutch; still leaking antifreeze from somewhere in the bottom.. looks like it could be from the freeze out plug.

oil change

fuel filter change

front fuel pump change

transmission filter changed (good bit of metal shards in fluid and magnet in the bottom of the pan)

and that's all I can think of for now..

so here's my issues.

when I go to crank the truck over, it'll just keep cranking until you start pushing the throttle.. when pushing the throttle and cranking at the same time, you'll hear it starting to fire, then after a few seconds it fires right up and runs okay, just idles high.

Issue #2 when driving, it isn't automatically shifting gears ALL the time.. Sometimes, you have to put it in second manually. seems more times than not right now...

issue # 3 the truck also does not like going over 35mph!! the best way I can describe what happens, is when it hits between 35-40mph it revs real high with no acceleration. on occasion, if you floor it, it will go but as soon as you lay off the throttle, it goes back to high Rev with no acceleration until you drop back down into second gear..

check engine light is on and will throw codes.. so I've written down all the sequence it's thrown at me and here's where I'm at with numbers and diagnostic from obdcodes.com

12 RPM idle out of range/high
14 profile ignition pick up circuit failure
16 signal from ignition diagnostic monitor (idm) not received
24 intake air charge temperature sensor/vane air temperature out of range
26 transmission oil temperature sensor fault / mass air flow sensor out of range
42 no o2s switching detected (right HO2S)
44 thermactor air system fault
53 throttle position sensor above max voltage/fuel injector pump lever sensor input is greater than self test
62 transmission 4/3 circuit fault
65 overdrive cancel switch not changing state; E4od transmission fault (my overdrive light blinks all the time)
66 TOT sensor signal input below self test minimum (e4od) / mass air flow sensor is less than maximum voltage
67 neutral position switch circuit failure, circuit open/ air conditioning compressor clutch switch failutr

I'm still a newbie and am totally confused by all these codes and what's going on with my truck.. any and all help is appreciated!

Thanks guys!

metal in bottom of pan I was told is baad..means transmission issues? Those metal pieces are pieces of your trannny. I just bought my 92 f150 5.0 4x2 auto with 130,000miles for $2800..It had been sitting a while so I'm in the process of replacing/flushing everything because my radiator fluid was slimy and yucky with rust in it. I had someone flush it but I don't think they even did it because it doesn't look like it. So I'm going to do a super flush myself with a buddy at his shop to ensure it is done properly. I'm flushing everything basically and replacing hoses. I drove her for about 2 hours the second day I got her and the transmission seal busted. They did the metal pan test and mine was clean. That is when he told me the metal flecks would have been bad because that means I damaged my tranny...There's a think at the bottom of your radiator called a peacock or p-**** (not sure how it's spelled) valve to flush...it should be a plastic bolt on the lower left or right side of your radiator. They're plastic so people tend to mess up the threads or breaking them...I would check that for your leak. That's what it sounds like you're describing.

Thanks I'll give it a shot!!!! mine has 189k on the motor... I know my torque converter is shot but I didn't know if that would cause the flakes in the tranny fluid...

I can't answer that question as I am learning/newb myself...I don't know if that could cause metal in the tranny pan. I just know I was told that metal flecks=tranny probs.
