Does the gauge not move all the way back to cold when the engine is cold? If not, you need to go for the temp switch first. If that doesn't work, replace the gauge or install a second mechanical switch which I believe is the problem. My t-stat and thermo switch is setup exactly as yours, but my gauge always starts dead cold in the mornings. As far as the gauge reading when warmed up, it stays right below the N, even when it's over 100 degrees outside.

Yeah when it's stone cold its all the way down as it should. I know the truck is running at the correct temperature, because the fans run off a separate thermometer I installed and they kick on and off as try should. I'd just like to see the gauge in the middle with all the other ones!

That defeats the purpose of the work you've put into it. I guess you could run a hotter t-stat and turn up the thermo switch setting but I've found the magic year round temp of 195 even pulling a load. I know you can run hotter than that, but I like having room for error.

I had the same issue wear the different gauges pointed. Pull the cluster, remove clear plastic pop needle off with a fork. Warm up truck and install in the position you'd want it at when its running.

Id rather not screw with the cluster if I don't have to.... I suppose I'll just leave it, just me being picky! Thanks guys!

If you want to be sure, hook up an accurate thermometer and compare it to your dash. Then you will know what the actual temp is at a given spot on the gauge.

That's true, I suppose I'll do that!
