Im pretty sure my computer went bad on my 87. I took it out and took it to the auto parts store and gave them the part numbers that were on it. I took the new one back and put it in and it didn't fix the problem. The numbers on the computers didn't match up even though they took my exact numbers to order another one, so I didn't think about it. If the auto parts store doesn't know what they are talking about I will demand that they take it back, because allegedly they won't take returns on electronic stuff. Opinions please. Thanks.

 

What made u think the old computer was bad?

 

It had the same symptoms as the first time it went bad. I would have thought there was no way other than the computer I put in came out of a 200,000 mile truck. I should have investigated further but my dad suggested I just order another one. We have had 4 of these trucks, but either way I should have went further instead of wasting 100 bucks.

 

What problems are u having and pull codes.

 

Maybe try and figure out what's wrong before you bang the counter at the parts store. It might be their fault, or they might have given you the right part and the computer isn't the problem, which wouldn't be their fault.
So, what kind of a problem are you having ?
