Default cold start problem

im having an issue with cold starts on my 94 f150 5.0l its an xlt when i start it in the morning its starts right up and is on high idle as soon as it comes off high idle its falls right on its face and sputters and dies then i have to crank on it for a while to get it started up again then it will warm up and stay running its only on first start up odd thing is when im cranking on it after it dies if i flip tanks it will start up then i flip back and its fine i have replaced the maf sensor on this truck any help would be greatly appreciated and any questions on the problem just ask

I would start with a throttle body and AIC solenoid pintle cleaning.Done it many times with the proper cleaner and never damaged anything.It is a myth that cleaning it will remove the coating on the TB surfaces.Maybe if you used a wire brush. Ford says no because they want to sell you another throttle body. Fuel pressure would be next on my list.It should be 30-45 psi. I am assuming that the plugs and ignition have been maintained and in good shape.

I recommend you put the original MAF back in.
