Default Coil Spring/ Shock Help

I have a 1996 F-150 XLT 5.8L 4x4 and just bought new Gabriel shocks and F-250 front springs for a smoother ride and to try and level out the sag, which is pretty rough right now.

I'm a weekend warrior when it comes to working on my mustang, but never really dealt with suspension. If someone has some tricks/advice when it comes to replacing springs, I would appreciate it.

So far my game plan is to take the bottom spring retainer loose and jack up the truck off the front axle. and go from there. Is there any particular order that would make this change smoother? thanks guys

You don't need a compressor for coils. Jack it up, support by the frame, undo the shocks and the coils ( large lower bolt and the clamp at the top. You may have to pry the axle down to get the spring out and the new one in

Thanks!
That'll save me some mulah vs letting it sit at a garage for a couple days. I'm going to scrap some rust off and paint the frame anyway, so it sounds like that would be a good chance to knock 2 projects out
