Default codes help??

Hey y'all Happy New year,

I'm getting codes

173 which is HO2S fault/rich

332 which is insufficient EGR flow detected
and
334 which is EGR closed valve voltage high

Are all these related and could they cause pinging?

Yes they can cause pinging. Yes they are probably related. I would remove and clean the EGR valve to start. See if that works if it doesn't replace EGR valve sensor. It is right on top of the EGR valve. Use motorcraft parts only. If that doesn't fix it replace EGR again with motorcraft only parts.

Well the egr seems clean I took it off a couple days ago and it seems clean and moves freely. Could that sensor cause it to ping? And could the tube get clogged?

If the sensor doesn't work then the computer can not tell it how much to regulate the valve to. So yes it could cause the pinging and the rich condition. After you replace the sensor unhooked the battery for like 15-30 mins to reset the computer and then hook it back up. Then run the truck again before checking for codes.

I suppose it could get clogged but I have never heard of it happening personally. Rotting out and falling off yes, clogging no.
