Default Clutch Problems.. HELP!!

I just bought a 89 F150 xlt lariat with a 300 straight six and a 5 speed. The only problem with it is the clutch petal is reallt soft and this morning it started sticking when it was all the way to the floor and it wouldn't come back up unless i helped it. And it would not go into gear like the clutch just wasn't working. I don't understand this problem because it has a new clutch and pressure plate and its got a new slave cylinder.. Does anybody know what might be wrong??

Welcome to the site!

Perhaps the air was not completely bled from the hydraulic lines, a bad master cylinder, a failed new-out-of-box slave cylinder, or - not being able to guess your outdoor temperatures - moisture in the lines has frozen.

To the extreme and less-likely possibilities - the pressure plate has a spring problem, retaining bolts holding the pressure plate have backed off, or water / mud has gotten up in the pressure plate area and frozen.

Suggest to start with the easier stuff first - making sure the reservoir is full, the lines are properly purged, and there's no signs of fluid leakage.

Good luck, and keep us posted.
