Default clutch problem

95 F150 2wd 4.9L
I drove to the store the other day and as I backed out of the parking spot I let off the clutch and it was stuck on the floor. I pulled it and it popped up. When I pressed on the clutch again it went almost to the floor leaving me about a half in of clutch, so I was able to get back home. I did't see any leaking fluid from the bell housing or master. Any ideas??

Check for play in the clutch pedal assembly:

Also can't hurt to pop the top off of the master cylinder to see if air got trapped in there or if its low on fluid.

Those are the easy fixes - if it is not either one of those, it is probably more serious.

I just rebuilt my pedal assembly with all new bushings and lever - cost about $60 in parts and an afternoon. Not easy to get the assembly out or back in, and it helps to have a second set of hands.
