Default Clutch fun!!!

1990 f150 300ci 5sp 2wd.

Just lost my clutch last week. Changed it out 12,500 miles ago. New hydraulics from Ford - new clutch kit from Carquest. Resurfaced flywheel. Pulled the trans and was greeted with a shower of friction material- yeah!
Only seen that on my mustangs after serious abuse. Turns out the clutch was made in China!! Carquest was willing to give me a replacement but it would be silly to put the same POS back in. I ended up buying a centerforce for 20.00 more than Ford wants for an 11 in setup. Had to buy a new flywheel though. Changed rear main while I was there and found out that the oil pan was leaking from the previous owner used silicone in lieu of doing it right. That lead to finding broken motor mounts - old trucks are fun! All in all it now shifts like silk and no leaks. Pullin 70 psi of oil pressure thanks to a melling pump while I was in there! moral to the story is. . research parts b4 you buy. Nowhere on the original package did it say made in China-had to find out through the net.

$475.00 from Summit...worth every penny.I use Centerfoce on my stangs.. didnt think it was necsary on my f150 becuz i dont beat on her - thats what mustangs r for. . . Ford wants 450 for the setup - 2 much for OEM. Buyin cheap parts is like buyin cheap tools - waste of time and money.
