Default Cluster Change Question

Hey guys,

quick question. i have a 1994 f150 5.8l 4x4.

i have no RPM gauge, if i find a cluster with the rpm gauge will it work or do i have to do some wiring for this to happen ?

never really been behind the cluster on these old trucks, my guess is it has its own plug for rpms.

You need a cluster from a 1994 or 1995 only those will work right. The cluster can be from either an auto or a manual, you can swap in the shifter indicator. I think they changes something after 1993. And it is just plug and play. I took my odometer out of the old one and it can go in I the one with tach.

Here's a good article on the swap.

Yes lol it's really easy. It took me about 45 min total. But you have to get the right cluster. If you have an auto it may take longer because of the indicator.
