clearance VS power loss
Ok I have been thinking about getting a lift kit for my 1994 f150 it has a L6 5 speed with overdrive and im sure its got granny gears (it aint fast but can go with 900lbs of stuff with ease in the back) I don't want to go all out and get a 6 inch lift for it i was thinking of at the most 4 inch lift for it. i do go off road for fun. so how bad is the power loss if i get a 4 inch lift and run 33s? any one have that set up? pictures would be cool too.
this is what it looks like now. im running 31 inch tires and have about 5 inches of clearance to the bottom of the front axle case.

Just as a word of reference, my 300 is slow as sin, but it's the same whether I've got it bulldogged with over 1000 pounds in the back or unloaded.
But on to more pressing matters. A 4 inch and 33s would look great on your truck! You're going to want to re-gear to 3.73 or more better 4.10s for good power with those tires.

What is the best gear for speed? i got to ask
and id need to swap out the front ones too so its a weekend project if i get a place to work on it.
I was thinking of swaping out the gears even before getting a lift but thats out of my reach as of now its my daily driver and i dont have a good safe place to work on my truck

I have 3.08s, but with the bigger tires, the effective gear ratio that's getting to the ground is equivalent to if I had 2.80s in the rear end. 33s with a 3.55 rear gear effectively is a 3.10ish gear.
ok good to know id rather have acceleration then top speed ive alredy taken it up to 80 before. its the exeleration thats fun going over a small hill can you say air time haha
thank you guys for the info
