Default cleaned battery cable ends

well i had to clean my battery cable ends today, they were really corroded. after i cleaned everything up, took about 1/2 hour, i hooked everything back up and now, when my truck is cold, it starts but then stumbles all over the place. the IAC was under warranty so i took it back, well its doing the same thing, but only when its cold. all i can figure i did by cleaning the cable ends was to have the battery disconnected for 1/2 hour so that would of cleared any codes. i just cant see how this would cause my engine to start and surge up and down when cold. what am i over looking here.

Anything over 5 min. (depending on yr.) clears the KAM (kept adaptive memory). It will require a few miles & multiple completed warm up cycles to get it's **** together, as the KAM rebuilds. In the mean time, be nice to it. "Smooth & steady"! Some drivability issues are to be expected, however, this may also be adding insult to injury (so to speak) if you have some active codes or other issues you have yet to deal with.

that makes sense. in fact its the only thing that makes sense. figured it had to have something to do with it resetting the memory.

Well, if I manage to make sense at least one a day, I'm happy!

I feel you're pain. I had mine disco'd for a while I did my new rear tank and rebuilt the suspension and got the same thing. I really don't drive it more than 15 miles a month so my process is gonna be slow.
