Default Cheap perfomance mods

I have the 5.0 V8 in my truck and was wondering if there are any cheap/free perfomance mods that can be done?

It is my main vehicle for work and most of my spare $$$ goes on my other car, anyone got any ideas?

Cheers Jez

Best money for horsepower would probably be cylinder heads. The heads off of 5.0 explorers flow pretty good and can be had for under $100 from a junkyard. Not sure how that will affect the compression on a f150 motor though.

Welcome bud! Unfortunately in our hobby, there pretty much isn't any "cheap/free perfomance " You can do a Gotts mod, which is essentially making a homemade cold air kit, there's one thread on here in the How To section if I recall.

Generally though, a cold air intake and exhaust would be first on the listing for a modded vehicle. Then after that, it's really all where you want to go, what you want to achieve, and how much you want to spend. lol

I'm in a similiar situation as you, all my money goes into my modded Mustang so I just keep the F-150 running as smoothly as possible and when I want to go fast, get in something that is even baseline capable of doing so.....

But then again, my truck has the 4.9 L6. lol Not exactly a beast....but you can't kill it!
