Default Center caps

I am converting to a 4wd. I want to know if it is possible to remove the center piece (the fake manual locking hub part) of the center cap to be able to put my center caps back on. This is what makes the difference in the 2wd and 4wd front center caps (auto or manual locking hubs) Is it possible to just remove them? If so how?

I think if you take a heat gun to the glue that holds it in it should pop out

Cool so they are glued on. Not all one piece. Thanks.

Ok so they knock right out, but the ring inside that is part of the center cap, does not allow it to fit over the hub

You're absolutely right! I knocked out the plastic "medallions", used a jig saw to cut the flange away, & used a die grinder, (or dremel tool), to grind the edges smooth. The flange has to be removed in order for the cap to fit over your hub.
