I have a 1990 and would like to change the Wiper Arms to the newer style that you can lift off the windshield and they will stay in the upright position. I would think that with a newer style arm that I would be able to buy the more common replacement wiper blades.
Anybody have any ideas on this if I can convert? Maybe arms off of a newer F150?

I haven't found a wiper blade that I cannot use. Every pair I've bought had the universal kit included. As far as swapping arms, if I remember correctly, the 9th gen has the locking mechanism that secures it to the stud. The easiest way to test it is to go to the salvage yard and buy one from several different vehicles and see. My local yards get around $3 for a wiper arm. Fast and cheap way to test.

I tried one for a 1995 today and it did have the J hook end on it vs the stud/shaft, but still the type that won't lift the whole arm off the windshield and stay put.
