Are you wanting to do just a stock rebuild or are you looking to hop it up some?

Please bear with us asking questions.....we are just trying to gather info to make suggestions.

I have long tube headers and I want to beef it up I want to get more torque and some piston heads that could handle a turbo

Now that can get expensive... you going to need more then just pistons for turbo.

Honestly, if you're talking turbo, you might want to go with an aftermarket block such as Dart as a foundation. The 302 blocks honestly aren't all that tolerant of that level of stress when you start talking 400 horsepower or more.

For me personally, if I'm adding any kind of boost and fall short of 500hp, it would be a disappointment. Yes, there are people that have done it with the stock block, but it's borrowed time.

With that being said, here are my initial thoughts:

- Aftermarket Forged Crankshaft Kit (Will need dished pistons)
- ARP Head Studs (With boost, this is the more secure option)
- Ported factory lower intake or Edelbrock Truck Intake
- Custom Ground Camshaft - Since this is a truck, a typical off the shelf camshaft is probably made for Mustangs, which are lighter, probably won't work. You'll need a custom cam for sure.
- Aluminum Heads. If you choose to use Trick Flow, you will need to know this upfront when buying your crankshaft kit so that the pistons will provide the clearance for your valves.

If that's more than what you were looking to do, you can still upgrade to lightweight pistons, ARP rod bolts, heads such as Brodix ST 5.0, AFR 165 or Trick Flow 170s and a camshaft such as 35-349-8 or 35-512-8 (or get a custom ground cam) and still have a good stout truck engine.

Also, since you have a 1992 truck, it's a speed density setup, which limits your options a bit. Are you looking to upgrade to mass air?
