Which bumper do I have?
I'm going to move an equipment trailer for my boss at the farm this weekend with my truck. I have a 1994 f150, 4x4 with the 302 V8. Now I don't have a hitch on the truck as of now, but it does have a ball on the bumper. I looked in the manual and it said it will either tow 2,000 lbs, or 5,000 lbs. The lighter duty bumper is a "Tubular steel bumper" -according to the manual. The other one is a "Step bumper", I think I have the step bumper But I can't tell, all in know, is my bumper is chrome and seems pretty heavy duty. It comes down to a low point, and its larger than a regular bumper. I know this is not descriptive, sorry about that! I can put up pictures a little later if needed.

Hitch would be a worth investment. Plus you can change the attachment on the fly.
Especially helpful for a clevis style hitch that you would find on the farm.
Switching between 2" and 2 5/16" ball is no longer wrench and cussing, just remove a pin and insert other hitch.
Better turning radius..
etc.
Found one at pick-n-pull. Real cheap-like on some sorta crazy sale.

Just call me sean. Really
That's an F250+ bumper lol. I doubt you'll have any issues for occassional use. But definately get a hitch, totally worth it if you're ever going to tow a lot. Or anything over 1500 pounds. Or go mudding and need a recovery point.. I've had to back into trees a couple times to reposition my bumper after getting yanked out by the ball on it. And I have the tow package for 5000 pounds on the bumper
