still pricey??

have you had the pleasure of pricing steel lately?

and shop prices are out the roof too. I charge $50 bucks an hour, to weld parts, and that is a no fab weld, you bring me 2 pieces of metal and i fuse them together,
it jumps to $100 an hour if i have to fire the torches or plasma cutter.
and those are min prices, you get charged for the hour even if it takes 2 min to lay a bead.

If you can make one in cardboard and tape, you could make it in plate, you can even get everything cut on a shear or water jet if you go to the right place.

yea metal is outrageous right now. i used a mig welder here at my house to weld new rockers on a buddys chevy (you can hear it rust at night) and a shop quoted him $500 even if he supplied the metal and painted it himself.
