Default Build Plans

The 302 in my '92 F-150's starting to get really weak, so I'm starting my rebuild plans and want suggestions. I'm more or less set on a 331 stroker build instead of a basic 302 so I have more low-end. My main questions revolve around a Mass-Air conversion and tranny swap. I want a manual trans (have E4OD now). I'll look for a ZF-5, but there ain't too many smallblock HD's around here, so can a M5OD handle it? I know alot of people use 5.0 Mustang computers for Mass-Air conversions, is the actual truck computer much of an improvement? Any other suggestions are welcome too. Thanks.

M5od pretty good, truck computer might be tuned for torque and stang tuned for upper hp, due to weight differences, so the stang puter might work better, I would do the auto-man conversion, you will have more fun with the power. And also how much power and torque would cost for a 331 compared to a better built 302?

Thanks.

I'm not sure on the difference in power and price. I've got an older friend who's built foxbody's since the 80's and he wants to do the same to his truck, he said it's more power and acted like it's worth it. I ain't researched it yet.
