Default Brighter reverse bulb

Anyone have a reverse bulb they are using that puts out more light? Would prefer plug and play into existing socket.

I don't know the bulb size off hand but check Sylvania in your parts store. They have been expanding their silverstar high output line of headlights into other bulbs. I used one for my under hood light and it works as a useful work light now. Also changes out the brake lights bulbs on my focus. They are whiter and brighter than stock bulbs. Life expectancy is a little shorter as they burn hotter however.

So I got a set of Silverstars for the reverse lights, I'll throw them in and see how they do tonight.

What bulb did you use for the underhood? Requires 912, O'Reilly only stocked a 921 In Silverstar and didn't show an upgrade for it. I just held off, was afraid that might melt my connector.

Edit. Heck of a selection on Superbrightled web site.

I don't remember off hand. I think I may have actually used a brake light bulb. Its been in there for years and the wires are fine. Just don't hit it with cold water when its on for any length. It shatters instantly. I also use the gold star headlights. Nice and bright.

LEDs look good but don't make it any easier to see. I've seen Reverse bulb HID kits on eBay, that's work good I bet

Yea you are probably right. The problem isnt necessarily the bulb but the fact that the lens is cloudy. If the lens was clear it would be much brighter with original bulbs. I had a buddy that needed to see better in reverse (very dark driveway) and he rigged up some small fog lights under the bumper and wired them into the reverse light circuit. That was pretty trick.
