Default Brake Lights

This has been happening periodically for a couple of months now. The yellow ABS and red Brake lights come on but the only thing wrong is the silly little float within the brake master cylinder seems to stick in the down position. I slide it up and down with a pick tool a couple times and the lights go out.
Brakes work fine with no problems whatsoever

Is the float serviceable/replaceable or can I somehow bypass it? The level of fluid in the master cylinder is right where it's supposed to be btw

Just annoying as I said brakes not affected...

You would likely have to replace the resevour on your master cylinder if the light bothers you..

There is a range of motion that is to be okay for the float
The sensor in the bottom of the reservoir is replaceable separately
I'd start there, with just the sensor

OK thanks
added some fluid and it seems to have regained its ability to float - need to keep adding fluid until the cork floats disregarding the level indicated on the side of the reservoir I guess

Keep an eye on it
The fluid goes down as the pads wear and you might need to remove some fluid next time you replace the brake pads
Those floats barely float anyway so I think you are okay now

You don't want to overfill the master cylinder. Address the issue at hand without some bandaid fix.
