brake bleeding
hello all I'm having a problem bleeding the brakes on my 1988 Ford F 150 I replaced the rotors and brake pads I un hooked the brake lines from the calipers and master cylinder blew them out with a blowgun but now I seem to not be able to get any brake fluid going to the front brakes and we have bled and still no luck any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
either use Speed-Bleeders or a friend....
if a friend.... fill the master cylinder and then start at the drivers side....
open the caliper bleeder 1/4 turn and then have a friend slowly push the brake pedal down. tell him NOT to bottom the pedal to the floor... stop close to the floor but not on it.
Once there Close the bleeder and have the friend lift the pedal...repeat. Open bleeder and push pedal again... repeat til you get fluid... close bleeder.
Go to the passenger side and repeat the same process.... once you get fluid then you can pump the pedal and force any remaining air out....simple
What i do is fill the master and pump the pedal 5-6 times and leave the cap off... open a bleeder and let it gravity bleed... it may take 2-3 minutes and then do the other side....I rarely need to bleed with a buddy
