Default On Board Tool Kit

I've got a 1996 F150 and was wondering what you guys may carry in your truck for road side repairs. I've only owned the truck for three weeks so I'm not very familier with the fasteners, etc. So far, I have the basics......tire iron & jack, jumper cables, snow chains, extra fluids (brake, ready mixed coolant and oil), air compressor, duct tape, tie wire, zap straps...... but would like to know what tools you guys carry!!!

Thanks!!

I am still putting stuff together a bit at a time, but as of now, I've got a socket set, screw drivers, vise grips, funnel, utility knife, siphon pump, oil, distilled water, pressure gauge, and probably a couple things I'm forgetting.

the previous owner had spare plugs, fuel filter, and starter solenoid, so I kept those in there as well.

one thing I definately need to get is a set of torx drivers... the truck seems to have a lot of torx bolts on it.

also, bailing wire, duct tape, and a tow strap.

Buddy of mine used to work at Sears Automotive. They had a better name for the bfh. Customers used to watch and get upset. He's beating on my Car. No, maam/sir He's just recalibrating it. So that turned into the 36 oz recalibration tool. Love it, adopted it.

Something I have always carried with me in all my trucks is a flat piece of steel, maybe 3/16" or 1/4" thickness, and bout 16" long by 12" wide. I use it as a jack plate... out in the woods it ain't so easy to find a solid piece of ground to put a jack on, so I'd use that plate as a solid base for the jack. Mine is stainless steel scrap I got from work but any mild steel would be just fine too. I keep it under the toolbox in the bed. It's heavy enough that it just hangs out under there and don't budge an inch.
