Does anyone know if I can I replace my 1996 8ft bed with a 1991? It seems like the rear panels didn't change but I can't seem to confirm.

 

The beds should be exactly the same from 1987-1996(97 for f250 and 350).

 

Early beds use crude latches, shaped like a house doorknob's latch. At some point in the '87-91 range, they changed to strike bolts & jaw latches, like the truck's doors.

That & the paint colors are the only differences I'm aware of in '87-96 pickup beds.
