Bed liners being used for lots of things now days. I saw a blazer that was painted with it. No worries about getting scratched on the trails that way lol.
I have a rubber mat. I like the mats, they get dirty, get a scrub brush soap and a hose

Bed lining the floor is alot more common than you might think. A lot of jeeps do it along with most offroad rigs. They know that dirt and mud is gonna get inside of the vehicle, and dont wanna mess with any dirty carpet, and would rather just wash it out with a hose. It wouldnt be hard to do, and its not a bad idea, if you dont mind the look of a black rubber looking coat of paint on the floor instead of carpet!

Maybe bedline it then put a rubber mat over top. I have mine out right now and it's fairly noisy and certain parts get pretty hot.

Just do rubber flooring. The cab looks goofy when you pull the carpet up.

A few disadvantages to bedliner. You loose the sound deadening and insulation of carpet and underliner.

bedline the floor to protect it, then lay down insulation and a rubber floor
