Default Battery drain

New alternator and battery from advance auto. Battery drains down to the point that I have to jump it over if not started within 15 hrs. Charged battery out of truck and it held charge for days. Reinstalled it in the truck and it was drained out in 24 hrs.
Tested alternator and it's putting out 14.3 and powers all that I can put to it fine.
I probed every fuse socket located under my steering column with my meter and all were 0's across the board except the fuse running my radio, dome, lighter etc. And it was only pulling 0.02 milamps which is just memory keeping.

Question is; are there any factory fuses located under the hood that I am not locating?

I noticed there was a single fuse case on a red wire that connects to the positive battery post that I haven't checked as of yet. Never followed the wire to see what it runs to. Actually just figured it was to the starter relay. Oh, by the way. There is no hot wired electronics at all in my truck.

I have my battery in a plastic battery box with cover because I'm a active smoker and saw a buddy of mine get a battery explode in his face. Not sure if the cig had anything to do with it, but figured why take chances. Terminals are cleaned and tight. According to my meter, I have a 1.5 miliamp draw going on, just boggled on where it's at.

So the cleaning and plastic cured your battery drain?

I have the exact same problem. I pulled relay #1 and it still drains at first I thought it was a stuck CD in the radio because when I fixed that it started fine for a few days then went back to dying if not started in 15hrs. Alt OK. Changed starter silonoid OK, battery OK,

What's the year and engine size? (Put info in profile and/or signature)
Check the glove box light.

There are 1 or 2 circuits which don't run through the fuse box and are protected by 'fuse links'. One circuit usually runs from the starter solenoid straight to the ignition switch, (with a fuse link somewhere in the line).

One possibility: A malfunctioning ignition switch can leave stuff powered on that should be off such as the computer, ignition coil etc.

The red wire with fuse holder sounds like an add on to me. The battery side of the starter solenoid is almost always used as a connection point for wiring, not the battery post. I don't believe any factory wiring has inline fuse holders either.
