both my driver side ball joints are bad... i went to advanced auto and they said they could not get a ball joint that supports the "old style control arm" i cant remember if it is upper or lower... my truck is a 90... am i going to have to replace the control arm or is there another option?

I just went to napa and got upper and lower ball joints for my 89 f-150

 

Try another auto parts store, the people that work in them here have no idea what they're looking for and if it doesn't just pop up on the computer they'll never find it, I'm bettin it's about the same there.
