Default Ball joint recommendations

I need new ball joints, upper and lower, for my 1995 2WD 4.9l. Any brand/manufacturer recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I agree. I have been bitten by cheap parts lately and that is a job I wouldn't want to do twice because of junk. Jim

MotorCraft from Amazon, eBay, RockAuto, Advance, O'Reilly, All-Pro, or the local Ford dealership.

Thanks all. Looks like I can buy a full set of the Problem Solvers on RockAuto for about $100

Sealed U-joints are stronger than greasables, and they last longer because you're not constantly blowing their seals out or pumping grease past a dirty Zerk. They also don't have a Zerk with wedge threads helping to split the trunnion. There's a reason Ford stopped using greasables in the 80s, and it WASN'T just to save a nickel. If you like Ford trucks, then you have to think that Ford knows how to build them right. If you think Ford is just out to stick it to you, why own one?

Just don't be surprised when you switch to another brand and find that they all tend to follow Ford's lead.

But "sealed" doesn't mean it can't be greased. It takes more effort to disassemble & re-pack a u-joint, but it results in a cleaner, longer-lasting part. I collect the originals in JYs and rebuild them for my truck.
