Default Bad day in the mud.

I finally got to go out and play in the mud, but not for long. The truck did great in the mud but as soon as I hit some standing water it developed a terrible miss and started stalling every few minutes. I had to get out (thank god I brought some boots) and tighten some connections just to get restarted. I had to solder a wire to the starter (dripped hot solder right on my chin, sucked alot) and then had to limp back to a friends house. Truck ran like a turd and I couldn't go above 20 mph. I popped the hood checked all of the plugs, the cap and wires, etc...; and just let it idle for about 10 minutes while I did that. It ran fine after that! I am assuming that I got moisture somewhere that I shouldn't have. Oh well. I am going to put a posting in the mechanical section about that, if you have any advice.

Anyways, next time I will go out during the day (this was at 1 am, we got bored with doing body work on another truck) and get some good action pics.

Oh yeah, the Rocker tires ruled in the mud! I wound up flying up behind some people that got stuck and had to stop. I had no problem getting going again. They aren't terrible on the road (as long as it is dry). I was seriously thinking about replacing them with something else but now I don't know.

Lookin good!

I'm just jealous that that we just got 12 more inches of snow in the last two days. So much for global warming Mr. Gore.

I went out hoping to climb up a hill so I could get some pictures on an old abandoned bridge. The tires would start spinning and I couldn't climb up the rest of the way. With a little more effort I could've probably made it.

On the way out I decided to run through the one mud hole there. I didn't make it. As soon as I edit some photo editing software on the new computer I will load the pics of me being stuck. This is the aftermath. I still need to fix the leaking tranny.
