Question Bad Battery?

Hey I have a ? when i rev the RPMs up on my truck and let up off the gas when its been started for a couple minutes sometimes the battery will dip down low. like the battery gauges is displayed N O R M A L and normally ill run at about A to L which i thought was high. but when that problem happens it dips to about the O or R and almost like stalls out but then it goes back and is fine. Does anyone know what that may be? Thanks to anyone who helps, its appreciated

my gauge usually hovers around the "R" also. i would say its probably the alternator. if you live near an autozone, you can take the alternator in and they will test it and tell you if it is good or bad. other parts stores might do it too but i have always used autozone.

Mine drops to slightly less than half-scale, about 12.5 volts or so on the 8 - 18 numerical scale I have - which would seem to be about where the 'R' is for you.

This occurs whenever I have the truck fully electrically loaded up - headlights on, A/C compressor on, fan on high, 100W/2-channel amp louder than it should be. Doesn't matter what RPM, the voltmeter stays put until some of the load is shed.

Don't know if this is right or not - just hasn't caused any problems and has been doing this for many years.

IIRC, the alternator should output in the 13.8 - 14.2 volt range at lighter loads.
