Default Is this Bad???

I just looked under my truck and I noticed that nothing is hooked to the smog pump and the hoses near the rear of the engine (the ones that i believe go into the head?) are still hooked up but not hooked to anything. So basically the whole system is there but is cut off at the smog pump and at the catalytic converter? Will this affect anything?

your catalytic converter should have the small line to it connected. That puts in cooler air that keep it from overheating. While the power robbing effect of having a smog pump kinda sucks, it's not really robbing that much power and the computer is tuned to run with the exhaust coming back in. Without it, you're not quite running correctly.

In the end, LOTS of people run without their smog gear connected for thousands of miles and never look back. It's probably more a question of will this keep you up at night?
