Backfire

I am hoping its only the regulator. I do not see or smell any fuel around the injectors with the truck running. I did take the vac hose off just to see what would happen, and no fuel came out of it, also I really could not tell a change with the hose on or off.
Maybe the tester will be in today or tomorrow and I can dive into this problem. With this being my daily driver, I want to get this fix.

I will check the plugs and wires also, thanks for the heads up.
Going over what might be the problems with this truck, fuel pumps cross my mind. My truck has duel tanks and it runs the same regardless of what tank I am running out of. I understand that both of my intank low pressure pumps could be bad or going bad. Is that a common problem?
I did pick up a regulator today just in case, but I will wait until I can put a pressure tester on it.

a bad pump wont cause a backfire, its usually caused by timing or running too rich, miss fire due to lack of spark can do it too, with a slight possibility of bad valves.
