Default Aode performance rebuild suggestions

I have an aode with 220k and will be getting a decent tax return this year, so I plan on buying a good rebuild kit for my trans. I have been looking at the #12 combo kit from patc transmission parts. The kit will be over 900$ but comes with lots of goodies and an 1800 stall converter. The question is am I paying to much or am I over doing it... Would a simpler cheaper kit be as good?

Got a link to the kit? Navigating their site is a pain. For what it's worth, factory stall is 1600, so an 1800 wouldn't be gaining you much of anything. For a decent kit you'll want added clutches and updated/hardened parts. I had a transmission guy tell em the 4R70W gearset isn't that big of an upgrade......if you were considering that.

It's in the middle of the page kit #12 and I wasn't going to go 4r gearset just stick with overdrive and I can get a 2400 stall

Nah, the number 12 kit looks good. I'd seriously consider the 2500 stall converter as well...it'd help you get movin a bit better if you're concerned about that at all.

Yea it weighs 5700 without me in it. I plan on getting 373 or 3.89 gears too. Will this kit be reliable? And do you recommend any other kits?

I've actually looked at buying the same exact kit you were looking at in the past.....
