AOD Tranny
Haven't heard anything bad about them, and from personal experience, it worked flawlessly. Mine finally failed at 207K miles, mainly due to never changing the fluid - it was flat almost-black nasty.
Suggest if the transmission is in good shape (has had its fluid changes, etc), you should be good-to-go and then some. Be sure to keep it out of overdrive when towing, as recommended.

I run an aod family tranny bolted to a 302. stock one failed at 200k and planned on having fun with it so I had it rebuilt and bullet proofed my tranny guy says itll hold up to 400 hp and im wicked evil to it and still hasn't failed out but like the previous guy a standard should be good up to about 300, 350 hp and make sure overdrive is off if hualing or whoopin some kids *** lol my next endeavor is to put a slap shift in and see how it holds up to that.. good tranny as long as the fluid is maintained. it likes its clean fluid
